A nod to the roofers who made it what it is:
Over the decades, a lot of people have worked with Steve Giles, some by trade, some by accident, and most because they owed him a favour or needed the cash. Whether it was a full summer or just a few weeks on the tiles, one thing’s for certain: if you never worked a week with Steve, you never really lived.
The name “& Sons” doesn’t just stand for Jack, Tom, and Charlie. It’s a nod to the entire extended family of mates, misfits, and weekend warriors who’ve climbed a scaffold and earned a bacon roll under Steve’s watch.
From lifelong friends to most of Dorking Rugby Club, Steve’s crew has always been a mix of strong backs and quick laughs. And of course, a special shoutout to Jasper, who put in the hours before trading rooftops for the city… though we’re still not sure if he ever properly cleaned out that last gutter.
To everyone who’s ever slung a tile, mixed the muck, or just carried the ladder, cheers! You’re all part of the reason this business still stands strong (and straight) today.
